A Mid-Autumn Festival Experience

As summer came to close last week the time had come for people to gather and celebrate the start of the autumn season. While most autumn festivals in the United States involve pumpkins, fall leaves and more pumpkins, some festivals bring world culture and fall together into experiences that are unlike anything most people get to witness. One such world festival I attended this past weekend was the Mid-Autumn Festival at the Lan Su Chinese Garden in downtown Portland, Oregon.

Known as one of the most authentic Chinese gardens outside of China, Lan Su is an experience that anyone who appreciates world culture and calming Being that the garden was full of relaxing sights and sounds putting it all into words on a blog post is challenge – tut instead I’ll let the photos I captured at the event do all the talking.

With yo-yo troupes and lion dances the Mid-Autumn Festival was a pleasant – albeit slightly crowded – experience that will no doubt on my Must-Do local travel list in the future.
